I couldn't be any happier to do a journal about my beloved Brussels on my blog!
As some of you may know I was born in Brussels in 1991 as my family used to live there. In 2006 history repeated itself and I moved back there with my parents!
It was honestly one of the best part of my life and I have some incredible memories linked to most of the places I will tell you about in this post.
First of all I want to thank AccorHotels for having us at the Hotel Pullman Brussels Centre Midi. It was an incredible stay which made the trip even more perfect! The room was huge and had all the necessities one could ask for, and yes free Nespresso coffee with speculous cookies!!! The complementary breakfast was the best surprise though, four different kind of croissants, eggs, fresh orange juice, yogurt, muesli and fresh fruit. We obviously never had lunch after that- ok, almost never- BUT- I did use the gym two nights. I always love going to hotels that have a gym. the one at Pullman was nice and cozy, with threadmills, elliptycal, bycicles and weights. Everything you need for just a quick workout to burn those complementary breakfasts ;)

The Hotel has the best location as it's at Midi Station so it's really easy to hop on any bus/tram to get to your destination.

DAY 1
On the first day there we went straight to the city center and walked through Avenue Louise. This would be one of the best spots for the fashion addicts as you have a mix of international retailers and cute boutiques shops  (Some other shopping points could be Rue Neuve with the City2 mall, Boulevard de Waterloo, Rue Antoine Dansaert)
after you've done your little shopping in av. Louise you can walk straigh to Place Poelaert where you can catch a good view of Brussels from Above (and the Atomium!).

From there you can walk a little more to the Petit Sablon with the beautiful garden and statues, and the Grand Sablon with the church and the chocolate shops and restaurants.
(I know it's not a belgian place but my mom always used to buy me chocolate brownies at Le Pain Quotidien and I like to go back there from time to time- so we stopped there for lunch!)

with another short walk- passing by the Manneken Pis- we made it to la Grand Place! This place leave me breathless every single time. The golden details of the buildings are incredible and the place it's really touristic but so unique at the same time. There's a "waffle street" close by so I'd say you go get one and eat it while contemplating the beauty of the Grand Place! - that if you are a sweet tooth otherwise go get a cone of fries! They're the best thing you can eat in Brussels, with beer, and waffles! and moules!

By the time we had a snack we were ready to relax a little so we stopped at the amazing Delirium. This, if you don't know what I'm talking about, could be considered the Mecca for Beer Lovers- where you can taste over 3000 different kind of beers. So it's a must really, if you're around you need to go! We spent a couple of hours there, first because it was pretty cold outside so we could use some heat, and secondly there were too many beers we could have tried before heading to dinner. Just a couple of steps by we stopped at our restaurant for the night: Chez Leon. This place was such a tradition in my family we loved going there, it's really rustic.
Moules and Frites are a must, and you need to try the shrimp croquettes- they're so good! - also, you get free refills of fries whenever you are done with your portion. Sounds like a good reason to go back every time.

DAY 2

On the second day there we decided to pay a visit to Antwerp. One of the best things about Brussels is that being the heart of Europe, it's so easy to reach any other city in such a short time. You can get to Paris, London and Amsterdam with just a couple hours train ride and Antwerp in 50 minutes.
We weren't so lucky with the weather as it was really foggy and rainy but we loved Antwerp. it's even better for fashion and I finally got to visit the Love Stories intimates shop! (Im a big fan! :)
We walked around the whole day and went back to Brussels around dinner time! - so easy got off the train and we were back in our Hotel Room in less than 3 minutes- not kidding.

DAY 3

On our last day we woke up and shot some pictures at our hotel room and went to have a nice relaxed breakfast, packed our stuff and left for the last couple of hours in the city. We took a bus to the Parc du Cinquantenaire (aka Jubel Park). I think this place is magical and leaves you with some kind of sense of peace when walking around the gardens - and the U shaped complex of buildings are just gorgeous.
We then took another bus to the Bois de La Cambre. We used to live really close by back in the 90's and my parents used to take us (my sisters and I) to the park every weekend. I can still vividly remember those little trucks selling ice-cream and waffles, and don't judge by the appearance, they do have the best waffles in those cars- better than any shop- so if you see any of those around the city stop and get one!!!
We managed to run back to the Hotel to collect our things and back to the airport to go back home.

If you want to see more of the pictures we shot while we were there on my instagram you can see them under the hashtag #WeLoveAccorHotels and #moustachicBrusselsEdition
